& IL TOPO – The Monster & The Mouse

I mean the Perfect. The Perfect is on stage. I can see it from this gilded balcony overlooking the stage, where they said: “The Perfect is a Monster. Here is the Monster and here is his perfect stare.” To me they are five gamblers stepping into a perfect game with their left feet. But they are actually just five artists pretending blindness in an obscure and awkward performance.
I’m standing on ceremony with trembling new skin staring at these golden lines running all around the space, and from the floor to this angelical ceiling.
My eyes are filled with delight. They too are trembling, like all these lights. Why does it make me feel so joyously sad? Can mere mentioning suffice to make things happen?
The chorus of gamblers said, “The Perfect is a killer kiss, here is the kiss and here is its perfect monstrosity.”
It’s funny, they look like mice running stealthily through the fanciest ballroom of all time. Now look at this place, all its gilding and angels and cherubs. It was conceived to receive this perfect kiss.
The Perfect has been told and a Monster is standing in the limelight as I sit in the darkness of this balcony.
