Hidden Waterway

This is a fairly obvious and always useful way to conserve memories of the past, in spite of constant urban change. In many cities of the world waterways – rivers, canals, streams – have been pushed underground by urban development. Although street names often indicate the former presence of water – Canal Street, River Street and so on – few people remember that water was once a vivid and very pleasant presence. We installed speakers under drainage grates in squares, with sounds of flowing or rushing water.
